- Ernest C. "Ernie" Thompson-1882-1958-A founding father of Weatherby Lake. Ernie was a pioneer developer in Southern Platte County. He began acquiring land in Rush Creek Valley in 1924, the site of Weatherby Lake. Thompson, along with Glenn Weatherby built the dam in 1936, creating Weatherby Lake.
King Park (75th Terrace west off of Eastside Drive)

- Arthur M. King-One of Weatherby Lake's most influential leaders. Art served as Mayor, President of WLIC, and founding member of the Sailing Club. An early environmental advocate, his focus centered on development and protection of the lake from 1946 to 1991.
